Stanley Watychowicz

Stanley Watychowicz, 84, of Natrona Heights, passed away, Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Allegheny Valley Hospital. Stanley was born April 4, 1933 in Indianola, to the late Louis and Sophie (Shustic) Watychowicz. He was a graduate from West Deer High School class of 1951. Stanley excelled in baseball playing in the minor leagues for the Philadelphia Athletics. He then served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. After his military services, Stanley was a manager for Jacoby Appliances and Parts in the New Jersey area. During that time he opened five branches for the Jacoby Company. Stanley then moved to Florida where he owned and operated his own appliance and parts store until his retirement. He also coached college and high school baseball during that time. After his retirement, Stanley returned home to West Deer Township where he coached baseball for the West Deer American Legion and several high school teams in the area. He was an avid golfer and member of the American Legion, West Deer Township. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosalie (Murry) Watychowicz. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Patrick Watychowicz; brother, Raymond Watychowicz.
