John Montifort Fontana

Born: 10/23/1935 - Died: 5/5/2018

John Montifort Fontana, 82, a lifelong resident of Logan’s Ferry Heights, Plum Borough, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s residence, Saturday, May 5, 2018. John has resided and was cared for by his daughter, Jacquelyn (Theodore) Bajack, for the past several years at her home in Frazer Township. John was born October 23, 1935, in New Kensington, to the late Joseph and Maria (Gentile) Fontana. Mr. Fontana served his country in the US Army Military Police as a PFC then in the US Army Reserve as a Staff Sergeant. John was a welder for Westinghouse, life member of Logan’s Ferry Volunteer Fire Department, and member of the Plum Borough Auxiliary Police. John was a parishioner of Mount Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, New Kensington, where he served as an usher. He enjoyed Fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, bowling, bingo, and trips to the casino. John is survived by his daughters, Jacquelyn Lynn (Theodore) Bajack of Frazer Township and Denise Marie Fontana of Plum Borough; grandchildren, Janelle Marie (Thomas) McKinney, of Plum Borough, Michael (Joan) Kranik, of Plum Borough, Tara Naccarato, of Plum Borough, Mason (Morgan) Fontana, of Plum Borough, Theodore (Susan) Bajack, of Natrona Heights, and Anthony (Brittany) Petricca, of Plum Borough; great grandchildren, Owen, Brenden, Kamren, Kevin, Kendal, Rayne, Lia, Harlow, and Everly. John is preceded in death by his parent’s; wife, Betty Ann (Simon) Fontana; son, John David "Tuna" Fontana; siblings, Guidano Fontana and Virginia Spak; grand daughter, Abigail Logan Smith Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation, 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Adam Siemianowski Funeral Home, 179 Starr Road, Russellton, West Deer Township, 15076. A fireman's service will be at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Christian funeral mass will be held 10 am, Friday, at Mount Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, New Kensington. Mr. Fontana will be laid to rest next to his wife, Betty Ann, at Greenwood Memorial, Lower Burrell.
